This instructional tool also needs to reflect the teaching that has happened in the classroom. Empowering Writers will provide an abundance of lessons on every aspect of writing with clear, measurable objectives that work in the real world of the classroom. My students need a Comprehensive Expository Writing Guide, Desktop Sentence Starters, and a Classroom Set of Writing Posters. Each main idea is explored through a variety of supporting facts and details. In addition, as young authors, the materials in this project will make a huge difference in my classroom by helping my students plan powerful essays.
The literacy center will be student friendly and accessible allowing students to derive maximum benefit from each lesson. I can use these rubrics throughout the year to monitor student progress and to adjust my instruction based on the results gathered. They will be able to compose, and publish personal essays. My students love to learn new skills and they are so curious. I have a group of 23 diverse students that have a variety of backgrounds, learning styles, and personalities.
